Welcome to The Piñata Blog! We are so happy to have you and thrilled to launch The Piñata Blog, our content platform, where we will deliver insights and advice around early education and child development, reducing clutter, toxin-free living, and environmentally-friendly parenting.
Story of Green Piñata
In Spring 2015, when my daughter Aanika was about eight months old, we made our first trip to the toy store – excited that she was finally old enough to play with toys. We quickly discovered that the toys didn’t engage her for more than a couple weeks and that with her rapidly developing brain, she was going to need new toys all the time! Not to mention, the clutter had already formed.
Beyond the logistical nightmare of toy buying, I also try to limit my family’s exposure to harmful chemicals. Given particularly young children are vulnerable to harmful effects of BPA, PVC and Phthalates, I was not very fond of letting my little girl play with plastic toys since she enjoyed exploring by sucking and chewing them.
The idea of renting toys seemed like a lucrative idea. After much research, I found a gap in the market. We needed the option to rent toys, but not just any toys, we needed to have access to age-appropriate, sustainably-made, and toxin-free toys that offered open-ended play. And just like that, Green Pinata Toy Share was born!
Green Pinata offers educational, open-ended, high-quality, toxin-free toys. Our manufacturers are carefully chosen to make sure they source their wood in a sustainable manner and use toxin-free, water-based paints. It’s an interesting discovery that the most educational toys are primarily made of wood, so you will find our toys are 99% wood, with the exception of a few Green Toys we carry.
Green Piñata is built on strong fundamentals from our scientific and educational experts, who have educated our team on what constitutes the best of the best in safe, educational toys. Our curriculum guide that goes along with our service educates parents like you on the skills required and learnt from each of our toys.
Our well of knowledge is only growing so we hope you’ll come to The Piñata Blog back often as we share tips, advice, ideas, and news around our key areas of interest.
Happy learning and sharing!
