This month, we are featuring Nicole, a full-time working mom and a veteran Piñata mama. Nicole is passionate about her faith, and loves spending time with her children. Find out how an organized evening helps Nicole stay sane, and how Green Piñata helps keep her daughter entertained and engaged, one toy at a time.

If I had a kid-free afternoon and nowhere to be, I would..
If I had a kid-free afternoon, I think I would start with a massage and facial, followed by watching movies on my couch in my pajamas with a hot cup of tea in hand.
What's the one thing that helps you stay sane as a parent of little ones?
The biggest thing that helps me stay sane is my faith. It gives me perspective in the more challenging times, reminds me that this is just a season of life, and helps me take even greater joy in the sweetest moments.
From a practical standpoint, I stay sane by picking up the house and prepping as much as possible for the next day before going to bed (lunches, clothes, packed bags, etc.). Sometimes it feels impossible to do anything more after a long, exhausting day, but taking extra steps to be ready to go in the morning helps start our day off on a more peaceful, positive note.
What is your favorite part about Green Piñata? How about your child's?
My favorite part about Green Piñata is that it encompasses two things I'm most passionate about – my children's health & well-being, and limiting our impact on the environment. It gives me great peace of mind knowing that my children can play with high-quality, educational, non-toxic, electronic-free toys, all while lowering our overall consumption of "stuff."
My daughter loves opening a Green Piñata box to see what's new. Over the years, some of her all-time favorite toys have included Walk-Along Snail, Chicken Nesting, and, most recently, Homemade Pizza, and Balancing Cactus.
What do you and your child do once your box arrives?
With my 3 1/2 year old, we generally wait for my 1 year old to be napping before opening a new Green Piñata box. We sit on the floor together, and I have her choose one bag to open. It's a great opportunity for us to carve out some one-on-one time exploring, playing, and having fun together, and I love to see her expression each time she opens a new package. We especially love some of the preschool age games.
As a veteran mom, how do you make the most out of your Green Piñata experience?
I usually wait a few days or even longer in between opening toys, so that my daughter truly enjoys what she's already opened. I've also waited to open them on plane rides, in doctors' offices, out to dinner, and any place where I know the wait might be a little too long without something new and exciting to check out. They are a great surprise for my daughter, especially in those situations.
