This month, we're introducing our first ever Piñata Dad of the Month! Laurence has been with us since the wee early days of Green Piñata and we're thrilled to share his experience with the service, his tips for creating a fun Piñata tradition, and how to make the most of the novelty that comes with Green Piñata.
Name: Laurence Maultsby
City: Maynard, MA
Occupation: UI Developer
Kids: Two boys- Julien (5), Caleb (1.5)
If I had a kid-free afternoon and nowhere to be, I would..
I'd go see a movie in a movie theater.
What's the one thing that helps you stay sane as a parent of little ones?
Having a glass of wine with my wife, Emily, and watching one of our favorite shows together.
What is your favorite part about GP? How about your child's?
Receiving new toys that are geared towards our child's age, and not cluttering our house with toys that they no longer like playing with.
As a veteran Green Piñata Dad, how do you make the most out of your GP experience?
We started GP toys when Julien was just under 4 years old. When we first started receiving the boxes, opening and playing with the toys would be something we'd do on the weekends. Initially we were opening one bag/toy a week, as to spread out the novelty for him, and to give us a special ritual on the weekends. He'd get so excited to see what the "Green Piñata Fairy" (not sure where the fairy part came from) had brought him to play with. Now Julien is mostly too old for the toys, but he's all too eager to help carry on the tradition with Caleb.
