There's nothing we love more than new toys. Naturally! When Shiva and I attended the NYC Toy Fair last month, we couldn't contain our excitement with all that's new in the toy world. Upon our return home, we placed a massive order for our toy catalog to bring all that novelty of new playthings right to your home.
Here are a few highlights of what's new at Green Piñata:
Hape Jungle Train
The Hape display at the NYC Toy Fair was chock full of exciting toys, all of which were centered around some of the most creative wooden train sets we've ever seen! From the smaller sets like the Jungle Train Journey Set, now available in our catalog, to the more elaborate sets like the Hape Musical Rainbow Railway, we couldn't get enough of the endless fun. Children learn so much from this kind of open-ended play, and Hape's ability to tie in musical and/or animal features to these classic sets makes each of these toys pack an even greater learning punch for our little ones.
Magnetic STEM Sets from HABA
The creativity found in HABA's games and take-along boxes are what sets them apart from other vendors. One of our favorite finds was the new line of magnetic box sets that welcome hours of imaginative play with different backgrounds for your child to choose from and a host of fun characters. New to our catalog are the Zippy Car Magnetic Game and Peter and Pauline's Farm Set for ages 2-3 years, and as a mom to an older toddler, I know for certain that these are to be enjoyed at any age. The best part? These sets come as easy-to-pack tins, so they are the perfect item to bring along for doctor visits, vacation or even restaurants.
More Bathtime Fun
Over the past few months, we've received great feedback from our customers on the value of finding safe, durable and easy-to-clean bath toys – so we've stocked up! Hape recently released a brand new line of bath toys in adorably appealing colors that we couldn't say no to, including Teddy's Umbrella Stacker and Rainy Day Catching for ages 12-18 months. The bath is such a great place to talk with your kids and let them create stories, practice colors, and develop various motor skils while getting clean!
A New Kind of Sorting Box
Since the time my daughter was an infant, shape sorters have been an all-time favorite. That's why I was so thrilled to see this adorable and creative Zookeeper Sorting Box for ages 9-12 months at the HABA display. This toy brings together the essential learning elements of cognitive, fine motor and math skills with its differing shapes, colors and sizes of objects. We love that it also adds in the challenge of needing to move the sliding doors in order for certain shapes to fit. Since this toy is built to last, it's always great to have a toy that offers so much learning from infancy to preschool.
