Hope everyone is having a great summer! We are extremely excited to feature Natasha as Piñata Mama of the Month. When she is not busy with her two little ones she likes to relax by cooking and watching a little TV. Below you can read how Natasha balances her busy life while helping her kids learn and grow through Green Piñata.
Name: Natasha H.
City: Vero Beach, FL
Occupation: Digital Marketing Manager
# Kids: Two- An 8 Year Old and A 2 Year Old
Green Piñata: What would you do if you had a day all to yourself, with no kid around?
Natasha: It doesn’t happen very often. I would read a good book, watch a couple of episodes of my favorite tv show, cook some elaborate meal. I enjoy being home by myself, when it is quiet and I can take a break from crazy pace and organize my plans, thoughts and papers.
Green Piñata: What's the one thing that helps you stay sane as a parent of little ones?
Natasha: Understanding that I am not alone, that other mothers struggle too helps a lot. When I feel frustrated I go online and read blogs or forums. The stories of other moms and their advises help very much. I also like to have my house clean and organized so to have fewer toys helps tremendously.
Green Piñata: Tell us a little bit about your little one. What are some of their likes, dislikes, and interests?
Natasha: I have 2 years old boy and 8 years old girl. My daughter is obsessed with horses. She does horse back riding. And my son loves all kind of vehicles. He also likes to “read” books and can just seat in his chair with a book.
Green Piñata: What does a typical day look like for your family?
Natasha: I believe that experiences are more important than things, so rather than buy toys for my kids I try to do different activities with them. So when my daughter is off school we usually drive somewhere like library, parks, museums etc.
I work from home and the last two years it was especially challenging. Basically I can work only when my baby sleeps.
But at the same time I am very fortunate to spend a lot of time with my kids and help them grow. I love the educational benefits of Green Piñata Toys. I limit screen time up to about two hours a day, so I have to be creative to keep the kids busy and entertained. With Green Piñata, my toddler can safely play and learn.
Green Piñata: What is yours, and your little one's, favorite part about Green Piñata?
Natasha: I love the quality of the toys! Before discovering Green Piñata I already had several toys from these brands and loved them. But they are pretty pricey and you never know what your little one will like. So I was very excited to try this toy rental service. Another great thing is that you can gradually increase the difficulty. About every other month I order a new stacker, and you can go from very basic type to very elaborate. Kids don't loose interest and keep improving their skills! Also the fact that you are reducing the consumption and minimize your footprint is great! And the kids of course love to get a box in the mail every month! I tried to put away some toys to stretch out the fun, but they are so excited to open the box and unwrap the bags, so I just let them play with all the toys right away. I thought my 8 y.o. wouldn't be interested in such toys but she plays and enjoys them as much as my 2 y.o. And they play together very good, learning to share and take turns.
Green Piñata: How do you make the most of your Green Piñata experience with your littles?
Natasha: I like the idea to order toys with one theme. For example only musical instruments and noise makers, so we can make a family band. Or everything about farm and farm animals. Or different train sets and we can mix them and put together one big rail road.
